Q: How am I charged for my pets stay? A: Milton Manor always charges for the day that your pet
arrives regardless of the time that you bring your pet
in. YOUR RESERVATION DROP OFF DATE IS DAY #1. Q: What are your boarding charges? Q: Do you require a deposit for boarding? A: A deposit may be required especially during our busiest times of the year such as holidays and school break periods. The receptionist will let you know if you will need to submit a deposit at the time you make your reservation. If one is required, a deposit form will be e-mailed to you, which will need to be filled out and returned to us before your reservation is guaranteed. Reservations at our facility are limited in most of our boarding styles and we become full very quickly during peak seasons of the year. Many times clients forget that when our facility reaches capacity, we are forced to refuse reservations. When someone with a current reservation cancels, does not show (or adjusts in some cases) last-minute, we often cannot refill the space. Q: What are your hours? A: We are open from 8AM to Noon & 3PM to 6PM everyday including Saturdays and Sundays. We are however closed for all major holidays. Please CLICK for a complete list of business hours. Q: What vaccinations are required for my pet to stay with you? Dogs are required to be current on their distemper (DHLPP), rabies and bordatella vaccination (canine cough) to board with us. Short-muzzled dogs also must be current on the Canine Influenza vaccination. However we do recommend that all dogs be vaccinated. The bordatella vaccination (intranasal form) can be given with us but is highly recommended to have been administered at least 1 week prior to their stay. The distemper, rabies and influenza vaccination must be administered by a veterinarian and thus MUST be done prior to boarding. Cats are required to be current on their distemper (FVRCP) and rabies vaccinations. Both of these vaccination MUST be administered by a veterinarian prior to boarding. Q: How often does my dog need to be vaccinated for Canine Cough? We require that the vaccination be boostered every 6 months if given the intranasal form. If given the injectable form of the vaccination, it needs to be boostered every 12 months Q: What is Canine Cough? Canine Cough is a highly contagious respiratory infection in
dogs similar to the human cold. This virus causes inflammation
in the lining of the upper airway. The symptoms include a dry
spastic cough, runny nose or eyes, and in some cases a slight
temperature. These symptoms can last from a few days to a few
weeks. Canine Cough is passed around in grooming shops, kennels,
vet offices, etc., basically anywhere dogs come into contact
with each other. Q: What is the Canine Influenza virus? Canine influenza virus (CIV) causes a respiratory infection in dogs that is often refereed to as canine influenza. CIV is a relatively new virus, so almost all dogs are susceptible to infection when they are newly exposed because they have not built up a natural immunity. Most dogs that develop CIV infection have a mild illness, but some dogs get very sick and require treatment. Recent outbreaks from the super storm have been traveling our way because of foster dogs being moved around. Short-muzzled dogs are especially susceptible to the virus. Q: Does my dog need to be vaccinated against CIV? For the wellbeing of the pets boarding with us, we are requiring the vaccination for any short-muzzled dog breeds (Pug, Bulldog, French Bulldog, Japanese Chin, Lhasa Apso, Shih Tzu, Pekingese, Brussels Griffon, Boxer, Boston Terrier, Affenpinscher, Chihuahua, English Toy Spaniel, Bullmastiff and Neapolitan Mastiff) as the infection is more sever in these breeds and also recommending it for all other breeds at this time. The vaccination is given in a two part series two weeks apart and then boostered annually. Please see your veterinarian for this vaccination, as we do not administer the vaccine while boarding. Q: What is all-inclusive boarding? A: All-inclusive boarding is highly recommended for all boarding dogs as this will provide extra exercise and activity throughout the day to keep your pet happier and healthier. The package includes 2 playtime sessions, 2 hiking sessions and a picture send to you by email via "How's my Dog" and is all added to any of our styles of boarding for a low flat rate of $20 per day (discounts apply for additional family pets doing activities at the same time). This is over 60% off the regular individual pricing. All-inclusive boarding must be for everyday of boarding except the day of drop off and pick up. Dogs must arrive by 10am on the day of drop off and be picked up after 4:30pm to include the package in these days. Q: What should I bring with my pet? A: You do not need to bring anything for your pets stay, but you are more than welcome to bring some things from home to make their stay more comfortable. Many clients will bring a dog bed or blanket, toys and treats. Please limit the size of blankets to full size (so they can be washed if needed). Also it is appreciated if bringing a dog bed that the inside of the bed be removed, placed in a garbage bag and placed back in the cover. If your pet has an "accident", we can wash the cover and replace the garbage bag. Many times we can not wash the interior if it is too big, the bean bag type, egg crate type or stuffing without a lining. Please do not bring dog bowls unless your pet will not eat from any other bowl or has an allergy to metal bowls. Many times your pet's bowls will be washed and then forgotten at pick up. Q: What kind of food do you feed the pets? A: If you decide not to supply your own food from home, dogs will be fed Eukanuba Low Residue and cats will be fed Iams Original cat food. You are more than welcome to bring your own food from home, however for dogs we prefer that you do not bring a 40# bag of food for a 2 day stay. It is appreciated when each meal is bagged individually so we know that your pet is being fed properly. Please do not label each bag with a specific day unless you have something special in the baggie. Labeling with AM or PM if the baggies have different amounts in them is appreciated. Q: Do I receive a discount if I bring my own pets food from home? A: Unfortunately, no. In actuality, it takes the staff a much greater amount of time to feed each pet their own special diet. Each meal has to be set up and handed out to the proper dog which takes a lot of time. It is easier on the staff to feed the same food to all of the boarding pets. Some kennels actually charge an additional fee to feed your own food. Feeding & Multiple Pets: Indoor Luxury Suites: If your pets can not be fed together, please bring a crate that will stay in their suite that one of the pets can be put into during feeding times. If you do not have a crate, they can not board in the same suite. Indoor Outdoor Rooms & Luxury Suites: If your pets can not be fed together, please keep in mind that one of the pets will be locked on their outside patio until they have finished their meals, even in the winter months. If you do not want this to occur, please bring a crate that will stay in their suite that one of the pets can be put into during feeding times. We can not split pets up for feeding times using other suites/rooms or having staff stand in the suite/room. Q: What forms of payment do you accept? Do I pay at drop off or pick up? A: $$$- WE ACCEPT CASH, LOCAL CHECKS, BANK CHECKS, TRAVELERS CHECKS,
Q: Do you offer any long term stay discounts? A: Yes, however payment is required at the time of drop off and the discounts are as follows: --14 day to 28 day stay with payment in advance -- receive free activities equal in value to 15% of your stay --29 day or longer stay with payment in advance (maximum 45 days)-- receive free activities equal in value to 20% of your stay This discount policy is implemented in order to guarantee that pets staying with us for long periods receive one on one individual attention with one of our staff members on a regular basis. Q: Do you offer a senior citizen discount or military discount? A: We offer a 10% senior citizen and 10% military discount, however they can not be combined, i.e. there is a 10% maximum discount. Please keep in mind that we will not always ask if you qualify for one of these discounts. You must let us know and provide proof to receive these discounts. Q: Do you offer pet grooming?
